My Story
I'm Megan Starling, certified ATG Coach and founder of Mountain Ability—specializing in mountain performance and injury recovery through proven movement methods.
My journey began with a catastrophic car accident that destroyed my ACL, MCL, PCL, posterolateral corner, and both menisci. Multiple surgeries failed. The medical system declared me "fixed" on paper, but I couldn't access the explosive power and confidence that mountain sports demand.
Traditional rehab hit a ceiling fast. Conservative approaches weren't going to get me back to pushing limits and sending it how I wanted to.
Everything changed when I discovered Ben Patrick's ATG system. Within weeks, I was seeing results that years of conventional treatment couldn't deliver. I went all-in: studied the methodology intensively, worked directly with ATG's top coaches, and became certified myself.
The transformation wasn't just about recovery—it was about building reliable strength and mobility that allows you to send harder and ride with absolute confidence and freedom. It was about living life fully.
That's what I bring to mountain athletes and injury recovery clients through Mountain Ability. If you're serious about peak performance or overcoming limitations that hold you back, systematic progression is everything.
I'm here to build the physical foundation that lets you push your limits without compromise.
The ATG System
ATG (Athletic Truth Group) was forged by Ben Patrick when conventional training failed to solve his chronic knee issues. Instead of accepting limitations, he dove deep into research spanning ancient Chinese methods to cutting-edge Olympic techniques.
Training under legendary strength coach Charles Poliquin, Ben developed the ATG System—a methodology that scales from rehabilitation to elite performance.
Why ATG Works for Mountain Athletes
The mountains demand explosive power for launches, bulletproof stability for uneven landings, and mobility to flow through complex terrain. ATG systematically builds:
Joint Strength - Resilient knees, ankles, hips and shoulders that can handle massive impacts
Stretch Strength - Mobility to move fluidly while maintaining power in all positions
Structural Balance - Addressing weak links that cause injury and limit performance
Longevity - A body that gets stronger over time, not broken down
Performance Architecture
This isn't rehab—it's performance architecture. ATG rebuilds your foundation from the ground up, creating unbreakable athleticism that lets you charge harder and push boundaries without compromise.
